As of spring 2023, Punta Cana is not only home to beautiful beaches, luxurious hotel resorts and adventurous excursion opportunities. Since Katmandu Park opened its doors, you can also find the world-class theme park, and at the same time the first theme park in the Caribbean. This is definitely worth a visit because at Katmandu you can spend a morning or afternoon of fun with the whole family. Find out in this article what to expect.

No matter the age, Katmandu Park makes sure you have fun!

Located in the heart of Punta Cana, Bávaro, and surrounded by numerous world-renowned all-inclusive resorts lies Katmandu Park: the smaller sister of the Katmandu Park in Mallorca. You can go there for hours of fun and fascinating digital effects. Yes, you read correctly: it is not a water theme park where you splash in the water, but an advanced theme park that offers mainly indoor activities with some technological novelties.

The attractions

During your visit to Katmandu Park, you can discover various attractions. The goal? Discover the gateway to the hidden worlds! You join forces with other explorers and overcome various obstacles. Some even literally.

1. EtherQuest: It is recommended to explore this attraction at the start or end of your visit to Katmandu. This is because it is the activity that lasts the longest. During this interactive tour, you will fight with the other explorers against the Jadu kingdom to go herhouse. The different rooms in which you will discover innovation game projections will give you the opportunity to do battle. And we are sure you will win! At the end you will go through a mirror maze and once you have found that exit, you will enter the "laboratory" where you can try some educational and scientific activities. So fun is guaranteed!

2. Legend of the Desirata: We recommend running this one first because you will discover the story of Katmandu thanks to a 4D Dark Ride. This is literally where it started all! The village elder, Hira, introduces you to all the characters while immediately immersing you in the technology offered by Katmandu Park. But you can of course do the tour on your own pace and own order.

3. Expedition Golf: Are you a fan of Golf? Or golf playing courses? Then Expedition Golf will provide you with lots of fun! Families and adults can relax here for about half an hour. The park offers two (called Earth or Sky) 18-hole miniature golf courses where you go through bridges, a real-life looking mountain and ice caves. And the decorations are truly stunning.

4. Challenge of the Mad Mage: In addition to "Legend of the Desirata," you also have "Challenge of the Mad Mage" which offers a unique 4D attraction. Here you will find a huge amount of action and fun! You end up in a kind of cinema hall where you take a seat and take a technological gun in your hand. The interactive battle (a kind of chess game) that you will engage in gives you the opportunity to collect as many points as possible while engaging in the dual with a curious wizard named Alvis. All while being surprised by special effects. We personally found this one to be the very best attraction!

5. Voyage of the Fathom Wanderer: During this attraction you will dive into the hidden realms. Because when the realm of Azurlan is attacked, a scenic tour turns into a daring rescue mission. Together with the characters, you protect Azurlan from a sea monster. An underwater mission full of action and fantastic creatures. Are you ready for this tour?

6. Wheel of the Infinite Wonder: In the center plaza of Katmandu Park, you'll find a carousel attraction called "Wheel of the Infinite Wonder." Here you can discover all the characters and creatures that you will also find during the other activities and attractions. It is a fun way to take a break from all the indoor interactive games. Combine this fun ride with a small food or drink break.

7. Quadagon: Do you always find obstacle courses fun and exciting? Then Quadagon is definitely an attraction you will love! For both adults and children, you will enter a course where you have to overcome different obstacles and checkpoints. And this as fast as possible! You can run, jump and climb to overcome obstacles. For the kids, of course, it's smaller, combined with some Arcade games. There is no doubt fun assured!

8. High Point Adventure: Inspired by the Himalayas, Hira, the village elder, built her own peak there in Katmandu Park! And you can climb it like a true dare devil! Trek through obstacles on this adventurous journey while enjoying a full view of the village. You will climb through bridges, landing nets, seesaws, swinging chairs and much more to go through the full course. In total, this attraction has three different heights. You can try out all three! But be warned: it requires strength and you must not be afraid of heights.

Shopping and Food

To recover from the (inter)active games, you can stroll through the shopping street of Katmandu Park and settle down at one of the various food stands or restaurants. You'll find an ice cream truck, Mexican food, waffles and pancakes, sweets and pizza.

In the shopping street, you can shop official merchandise from Katmandu, discover a bohemian store and discover fine jewelry or sunglasses.

Finally, you can also get your photos printed or make fun videos as souvenirs of your visit to Katgmandu Park. Or let "Eyeconic" surprise you. They make art out of your eyes!
